The Sandman by Neil Gaiman
Title: The Sandman
Author: Neil Gaiman
Subject: Fantasy
Language: English
I own the entire series and have read it several times. "The Sandman" delves into the human psyche and universal themes. It is a fantastic work that showcases the power of storytelling.
The worlds of "The Sandman" offer endless fascination for me. The series has profoundly influenced how I explore complex concepts, connect with others, and understand diverse perspectives. It highlights the importance of dreams, the consequences of our actions, and the intricacies of human nature.
One of my favorite scenes, which I believe is applicable to me as a Front-end dev, is from "Preludes & Nocturnes." In this scene, Dream's realm, The Dreaming, is in disarray after he is imprisoned for decades. When he finally escapes and returns, he begins the arduous task of rebuilding and restoring his realm.
Quote: “The price of getting what you want, is getting what you once wanted.” – Dream, "The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes"
This quote resonates with me as a reminder of the sacrifices and challenges that come with pursuing our dreams. It serves as a source of motivation and reflection as I navigate my journey as a developer.
